When: October 25th, 26th, and 27th. Kendo.

What: 2-day Seminar, SWKIF Board Meeting, & Promotional Exam for Kyu to 3 Dan.

Seminar Deadline: Please return the registration form along with the waiver of liability, meal selection form, and a check by October 8th, 2013.

Testing Forms: The exam application, a copy of the latest menjo, written exam, and checks must be given to your Dojo Representative (David Cooper) on or before Thursday, October 10. Please see that Ichimura Sensei signs off on applications well before that.

Fall Membership Drive – SWKIF-AUSKF

For members who missed the Annual Fall Membership Drive, please complete the attached form and return it to Alison before Sunday, September 15th. While it is not a requirement for DFWKIK members to join the SWKIF or AUSKF, we highly encourage it in order to support regional and national activities and insurance coverage. If you plan to attend a regional or national event (seminar, tournament, or promotional exam), it is required to be a member of the SWKIF and AUSKF. If you plan to attend the seminar or promotional exam in Tulsa this October, you must be a member.

Iaido Classes Cancelled on 6/27 and 6/30

Because many of our senior members will be out of town for the National Iaido Taikai and Seminar, iaido classes will not be held on Thursday evening, June 27th and on Sunday morning, June 30th. KENDO CLASS WILL BE HELD at the usual time for kendo on Thursday. Please arrive early to prepare the wrestling room. On Sunday morning, kendo kata practice will be held at the usual time, followed by kendo practice.

2013 AUSKF Summer Kendo Camp

When: Friday August 30 to Sunday September 1.
Where: Cleveland – Cleveland States University .

All forms and payments within the packet are due August 17. No late applications will be accepted. The camp includes seminar and promotional exam (Kodansha 5-7 Dan only). There is also a banquet Saturday evening.

Two instructors from the Zen Nippon Kendo Renmei (ZNKR) will be attending the camp:
Masahiro Shimano Sensei (Kendo Hanshi 8 Dan) from Osaka.
Masateru Ogata Sensei (Kendo Hanshi 8 Dan) from Kumamoto.

2013 AUSKF Iaido Summer Camp

When: Thursday June 27 to Sunday June 30.
Where: Council Bluffs, Iowa (Omaha) – Iowa School for the Deaf.

All forms and payments within the packet are due June 1 to avoid late fees, and must be received to the camp mailing address by June 12, 2013 as no late applications will be accepted nor refunds provided after this date. The camp includes a 2-day seminar, US Iaido Championships, and promotional exams. There is also a Welcome Reception Wednesday evening and a Jodo workshop Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.
