AUSKF Junior Open National Championship (6/25-26) & 51st All Japan Dojo Youth Kendo Taikai (7/26-27)

The AUSKF Junior Open National Championship is going to be held in Detroit, MI on June 25, 2016. For details and registration, please refer to AUSKF Jr. Nationals site. The deadline is May 13, 2016. There is a seminar on Sunday, June 26, 2016.

This AUSKF Junior Open National Championship will be utilized to select a 5 youth kenshi team representing AUSKF to participate in the coming 51st All Japan Dojo Youth Kendo Tournament (第51回全国道場少年剣道大会)at Nippon Budokan, Tokyo, Japan on July 26-27, 2016. The team will be accompanied by Yoshiteru Tagawa Sensei and Danny Yang Sensei, who was appointed as Manager from the AUSKF Competition committee.

ALL EXPENSES INCLUDING FLIGHT, TRANSPORTATION, HOTEL AND MEALS WILL BE PAID from July 22-28 by the hosting Japanese Dojo Renmei.

The 1st place winner of the 14-15 year old division will automatically be selected. The other 4 kenshi will be selected by Tagawa Sensei, Yang Sensei and the AUSKF Competition Committee. The candidates must be 15 years old and younger by July 26, 2016 and must be a US citizen.

This is the 1st time that Japan invited any foreign country to participate in their tournament. Please treasure this great opportunity for better kendo and good friendship.

PNKF Women’s Kendo Seminar and Tournament – July 9-16, 2016 – Seattle, WA

Saturday, July 16th 2016 will be the 6th North American Women’s Kendo Championships. Same location, Renton Community Center, next to the Quality Inn in Renton, WA.

In addition to the tournament there will be a weeklong seminar and practice for women only, July 9 to July 14, with godo keiko on Friday July 15.

Our guest instructor this year will be Chinatsu Murayama (村山千夏, 埼玉/Saitama)Sensei, Renshi 7 Dan, 5-time All Japan Women’s Kendo Champion. Murayama Sensei is currently one of the few highest ranked female kenshi in the world. She is only 41 years old, works at Saitaima Police, and used to study at Tsukuba University.

Seminar Fee:
$50 for full seminar or $20 for Saturday and $15 per day for all other days.
All participants must be 14 years of age or older and sign the waiver form. (If you already submitted a waiver form for the tournament, you do not need to sign another for the seminar) .
