Texas Open Kendo Taikai

The 11th Nabeshima Cup Invitational Kendo Tournament and the 5th Texas Open Kendo Tournament will be held on the weekend of Saturday, April 22, 2007 in Dallas, Texas.

  • The Texas Open Kendo Taikai kendo tournament started in 1999 and is open to current or prospective All US Kendo Federation (AUSKF) and International Kendo Federation (IKF) members ranked of YonDan (4th degree) and above. Past Results
  • Introduced in 2005, as part of the Nabeshima Cup tournament, there is a separate ShoDan (1st degree) to SanDan (3rd degree) competion bracket. Past Results
  • The Nabeshima Cup Invitational Kendo Tournament started in 1992 as a goodwill Dallas/Fort Worth Kendo & Iaido Kyokai (DFWKIK) club tournament and has expanded to current or prospective AUSKF and IKF members. To continue to foster goodwill, fellowship and high spirit involving developing kenshi, this year's Nabeshima Cup is open to kenshi ranked IkKyu and below.  Past Results
  • The Southwest Kendo and Iaido Federation (SWKIF) is also sponsoring two events over the weekend. The first being a Kendo Seminar on Friday night, the second being a Shinsa (Promotion Exam) on Sunday morning.
