World Kendo Championships

The World Kendo Championships are sponsered by the International Kendo Federation and have occurred once every three years since 1970.  The tournament consists of both men and women individual and team competitions between member countries and is hosted by a different country each tournament.  The 10th World Kendo Championships in Kyoto, Japan was host to the 1st Women's International Kendo Championships.

The 12th World Kendo Championships will be hosted by the British Kendo Association in Glascow, Scotland in the Spring of 2003.
